Getting Started
Download ScanCraft, create your first scan and learn the basics.
All you need to start using ScanCraft is an iPhone, iPad or an ARCore-compatible Android device.
1. Download the App
Download the app free from the App Store or Google Play. Download links will appear in the "Download" section of the home page once published.
2. Grant Permissions
On first launch, the app requests the following permissions:
- Camera: Required for scanning.
- Microphone: (Optional) Used for voice notes.
- Files/Notifications: (Optional) Used for exporting and reminders.
3. Create Your First Scan
- Tap New Scan on the home screen.
- Choose a scan mode: Object or Space.
- Point the phone at the object from a distance of 1-2 meters and press the scan button.
- Surfaces that turn green indicate scanned areas. Move slowly to cover all surfaces.
- Stop the scan; ScanCraft processes the model automatically.
4. Get to Know the Interface
- Scan screen: Real-time preview, frame rate and coverage indicator.
- Library: All your scans; edit, share and delete from here.
- Editing: Crop, clean, measure and export tools.
- Settings: Scan quality, cloud backup and account management.
5. The Right Mode for Your Device
If your device has a LiDAR sensor, ScanCraft uses LiDAR mode by default: fast and highly accurate. Without LiDAR, photogrammetry mode activates automatically; good lighting and slow movement are the two most important rules in this mode.
Tip: Practice with small, still objects first (a vase, a toy, a shoe). This way you learn how the app behaves quickly.
