General questions
Which devices does ScanCraft support?
ScanCraft works on iPhone and iPad as well as ARCore-compatible Android phones and tablets. LiDAR-equipped Pro models deliver the highest accuracy.
Can I scan on phones without LiDAR?
Yes. On devices without LiDAR, the photogrammetry-based scanning mode takes over; good lighting and slow movement lead to successful results.
Is ScanCraft free?
Core scanning, editing and export features are free. A Pro version is available for unlimited scanning and advanced features.
Do I need an internet connection?
Scanning and editing run entirely on your device, so you can scan offline. Internet is only needed for cloud backup and link sharing.
Which export formats are available?
We support GLB, STL, OBJ, PLY, USDZ and 3MF. Check the export section of the guide to choose the right format.
Where are my scans stored?
By default, your models stay on your device only. You can enable cloud backup to sync your models safely whenever you want.
How can I improve scan accuracy?
Stable, even lighting, slow movement, full coverage of the surface and post-scan cleanup steps noticeably improve accuracy. Detailed tips are in the guide.
Can I scan people or animals?
Moving subjects are captured with limited accuracy. For people and animals, keep the subject as still as possible during the scan.
Which format should I choose for 3D printing?
Most slicer software supports STL and OBJ; for color printing, 3MF or GLB are good choices. See the comparison table in the guide.
How do I upgrade to Pro?
You can upgrade to Pro from the Settings section of the app. Your subscription is managed through your App Store or Google Play account.
